HOWL is a new night of music and poetry at the Horse & Groom in Shoreditch. It showcases spoken-word poetry and independent music from a range of genres. During colder months, it also to features a large screen playing a DVD of a fireplace to create that homely, living-room ambience. Performers so far have included To Kill A King, Joshua Idehen (of Benin City), Eliza Shaddad, Dead Poets (Mark Grist & Mixy), Raymond Antrobus, Faith Taylor, Nadia Khomami, Clayton Blizzard, and H.L.I.

HOWL currently takes place on a not-quite-monthly basis. Its next edition will be in September or October 2012.

HOWL is not an acronym. It is named after this poem.
